An enthusiastic group of supporters helped kick off the campaigns of
candidates for Wayne County Judge, Charles Burkwit; and Sheriff, Terry
Pickett on Thursday, May 21 at Trombino's restaurant in Lyons. The Meet and
Greet Reception was hosted by the Lyons Democratic Committee in conjunction
with the Wayne County Democratic Committee.  Burkwitt and Pickett addressed
the gathering and outlined their campaigns for the Fall election.
Charles Burkwit candidate for County Judge resides in  Pultneyville and has
practiced law since 1995. He is a member of the New York and Michigan State
Bars as well as the Bar Associations of Monroe and Wayne County.  He has
practiced law extensively from Family to Supreme Court throughtout the 20
counties in Western and Central New York.  Terry Pickett candidate for
County Sheriff resides in Macedon.  After a 20 year career in the U.S. Army,
he retired as a 1st Sergeant in 1994 and in 1996 began his career in the
Wayne County Sheriff's Department: correctional division and presently in
the road patrol.  He is a Field Training Officer and member of the SCUBA
